Michael L. Kadar’s interest in the food services industry began during his time as a student at the University of South Carolina in 1999. In order to complete his degree, he found work as a food runner in the kitchen of a Hyatt Hotel’s restaurant, eventually working his way up to an expediter and restaurant supervisor for Marriott from 2001 to 2005. His passion for the field encouraged him to change his major to hotel, restaurant and tourism management. Mr. Kadar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina in 2004.
Shortly thereafter, Mr. Kadar became a manager at the original Philly’s Cafe & Deli location in 2005. He left Philly’s in 2006 to explore other opportunities, operating as an installer for InnA/Vation for two years. In 2008, he returned to Philly’s as a partner in the company, having been an owner on the Hilton Head Island location for the past 14 years. Specializing in made-to-order salads, pitas, cheesesteaks and sandwiches on bread made in-house each morning, Philly’s Cafe & Deli has established itself as a local mainstay for more than two decades.
Finding great success in his professional endeavors, Mr. Kadar is honored to have received a Certificate of Excellence by his supervisors. Alongside him primary work, he has contributed to the Special Olympics North American Tennis Tournament as a caterer. Mr. Kadar attributes his success to hard work and dedication, as he is genuinely happy to serve people and see happy customers eating his products. With a passion for the food industry, he hopes to expand to franchises or sister locations in the coming years.
